Calculate distance travelled
Keep units consistent
If speed is metres per second and time is seconds, distance is metres. If speed is kilometres per hour and time is hours, distance is kilometres. In accelerated motion, acceleration must use the same distance and time basis.
Distance versus displacement
The constant-acceleration formula describes signed one-dimensional displacement while direction remains consistent. If an object reverses direction, total path distance must be found piece by piece. Coordinate geometry belongs in the point-distance calculator.
