Calculate distance between two points

Distance formula

d = √((x₂−x₁)² + (y₂−y₁)² + (z₂−z₁)²)

The formula is the Pythagorean theorem applied to coordinate differences. For (1,2) and (4,6), the differences are 3 and 4, so the distance is 5.

What this result does not measure

Euclidean distance is a straight line in a coordinate system. It is not road distance, travel time, or distance over Earth's curved surface. Use the air-distance calculator for latitude and longitude.
