Date estimate, not benefit advice

This calculator does not determine eligibility, pension value, Social Security entitlement, tax treatment, or an official separation date. Confirm plan-specific rules with the administrator.

Basic rule
attained-age date = birth date + target age

An employer or retirement plan may instead use month-end or the first day of the following month.

Calculate your retirement date

What the result means

The calculator first finds the date on which the selected age is attained. It then applies the selected timing convention. The three outputs can differ even with the same birth date, which is why an official policy must be checked rather than assumed.

Leap-day birthdays

If a February 29 birthday is moved to a non-leap year, this calculator uses February 28 as the last valid day in that month. A plan may define a different legal or administrative rule.

What this calculator does not estimate

  • Retirement savings, income, or withdrawal sustainability
  • Pension or Social Security benefit amounts
  • FERS, military, or employer-specific eligibility
  • Notice periods, vesting, taxes, or health coverage

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Enter 62 in years and 6 in additional months.

Why might my official date differ?

Plans can use age, service time, pay periods, month-end rules, separation dates, or statutory definitions. This tool performs only the date arithmetic you select.
